Matassa: The Beach I Want – A Trip Above and Below the Sea to Discover the Bio and Geodiversity of Liguria

Organized by Geoscape

Can beaches become sustainable in terms of sport? In this laboratory, thanks to four interactive stations, you will discover the different aspects that characterize the beaches.
The journey starts from the bottom of the sea where thanks to 3D viewers you can live an immersive 360 along the seabed of Portofino, discovering the biodiversity of the seabed and the importance of their protection. An original “sands library” then allows visitors to view the geo-diversity of the beaches of Liguria and a scale model shows how it could become a coastal town like Sturla if the protection of the coasts were associated with sports practice.
The experience ends with the “Living Sand” technology station, a multimedia installation where users can create and modify 3D landscapes in real-time with sand analyzing and understanding natural geological phenomena, geographical information and morphology of the territory.
